Customer Review: An OK frame for the money
This is an OK, average product. Very basic software, relatively easy to use and I like the fact that it allows a 1gig space on the SD card. The only problem that is very irritating is that you can not randomize the photos. It just loops them in the order they are on the card.

These parameters are discussed at 2 levels:
-Based on degree of functional use of available features
-Based on the type of photography you want to attempt
-->Based on degree of functional use of available features
A person who is happy with his or her camera model usually responds with the following words of praise.
Incredible ease of use
User-friendly controls
Intelligently and thoughtfully designed
Excellent value for money
Light and compact
These are the kind of terms that you will come across from camera owners who are satisfied with their camera models. These superlatives sum up what people usually look for or could look for at an overall level in their camera. It is a broad evaluation based on design elements, size and affordability.
Before you make a decision to purchase you should explore a little further and study the type of features available to you. Unless you make the attempt to understand the features at your disposal, there is the risk of being stuck with a model that does not suit your particular requirements. Lets take a look at what features you should look for, as well as the features that you should be wary of when you choose a camera system.
-->Features to Look For
1. The lens is by far the most important device in your camera. The quality of the lens ensures the sharpness of your image. The camera lens is described by length (given in mm), known as the focal length of the lens. 50mm is the standard focal length in a lens. A lens of shorter length is known as a wide-angle lens and is used usually by landscape photographers. A lens with focal length greater than 50mm is called a telephoto lens and is especially useful to professional photographers in capturing distant images.
There are also cameras with a zoom lens. A zoom lens can offer various focal lengths, so you have a lens capable of many focal lengths. Simple put, when you use a zoom lens you can make your subject bigger or smaller within the frame.
For instance, a wide-angle zoom can cover a range of focal lengths below 50mm, or a telephoto zoom gives you a range of higher order focal lengths. Some superior zoom lenses can take you from wide angle to standard and through to telephoto ranges. The power of the zoom lens is defined by the extent of magnification from a lower focal length to a higher end and is given as 2x, 3x and so on.
Some lens tips:
--A 50mm or 100mm lens is considered adequate for most non-professional hobby users. The professionals usually go for telephoto lenses of 200mm or more. A lens with higher focal length costs a lot more. Most beginners dont need to invest in a telephoto lens.
--Check if your camera is compatible with the range of lenses that the manufacturer of your model has on offer. Most manufacturers have hundreds of lens options on offer and your requirement for lenses varies as you progress in photography. Your camera has to be compatible with lenses of higher focal length and speed. If you are planning to upgrade your camera by buying another model from the same manufacturer, check for compatibility with older accessories so that you can put to use some of the lenses already available with you and save yourself an additional expense.
2. Depth-of-field preview button
A depth-of-field preview button is a necessity if you want to achieve better focus. It allows you to identify the area that will be in focus in your photograph. This area is referred to as the depth of field. When you adjust the focus in your camera the preview button is a useful tool that can help you vary the focus and depth of field in different shots.
3. Image sensor resolution
In digital cameras, there is no film in use but this is instead replaced by a device called the image sensor. The image sensor renders colors, is sensitive to light and is the device that captures images in small pixels on its surface.
Image resolution is a measure of the sharpness or level of detail in photographic images. Image resolution is expressed as a number and is measured in mega pixels. High-end professional use cameras have an image sensor resolution of around 12 mega pixels and the most advanced professional models go up to almost 14 mega pixels. At the mid range you have camera models with resolution ranging from 2 - 6 mega pixels. To deliver large format prints of superior quality, you should go for models with resolution greater than 3 mega pixels. At the lower end, you have models of 1 mega pixel or less and the sharpness of the photograph is slightly inferior compared to cameras with higher values of image sensor resolution. Lower pixel models are best suited for small format prints.
4. If you have the facility for Auto-bracketing it can be a very useful tool. Auto-bracketing enables the camera to automatically take 3 exposures or in some cameras 5 exposures of the same shot by varying the Exposure Value (EV) to lighten or darken an image. Each of the images will be slightly differently exposed and this is a great tool to ensure that you capture the moment perfectly. You can bank on at least one being a properly exposed picture. This tool comes in handy especially for professional photographers.
5. If tonal quality of the photograph is your top priority when you choose a camera then it is best that you go for a digital camera. Photographic prints of scenes captured on a digital camera have a level of tonal quality that is far superior to best quality traditional prints.
6. There are sophisticated camera models available today that can capture movement and audio-visual images. If you want to go beyond static images and capture the first steps of a child or activities during family get-togethers, then you should look for a camera with these advanced capabilities. It will create a better experience when you go down memory lane. The Kodak Easyshare LS753 Zoom Digital Camera is one such model that offers audio-visual capability.

-->Features to be Wary Of
Some features or the lack of certain functions can prove to be a stumbling block for a photographer. Be careful when you select your camera system and pick those models where such drawbacks are minimized or not present. Being aware of such drawbacks is important if you want to make a smart choice.
1. If you want to go in for a camera model with a zoom lens, look for an optical zoom, not a digital zoom. The optical zoom provides variable focal length whereas a digital zoom merely increases the magnification in the center portion of the picture. If the camera you choose has both optical and digital zoom, then make sure that you can disable digital zoom.
2. Some cameras are not all that effective in low light conditions and dark places, the flash a not powerful enough. Be sure you dont select such a model.
3. The shift between exposure-modes should be a simple one-step process. In some models shifting between shutter priority and aperture priority takes longer since it is a little more complicated, involving more than one step in the process of shifting between modes.
4. In some camera models you run into the problem of dust collecting in the film compartment. Look out for any obvious fine openings that can cause this problem.
5. Slow and noisy Auto Focusing can be irritating. Look for a quieter model.
6. A camera has to have the four key exposure modes: auto, manual, aperture priority and shutter priority. There are models with many more exposure modes but choose such models only if your requirements warrant the confusion that goes along with having a whole host of exposure modes.

-->Based on the Type of Photography Your Want to Attempt
You choice of camera and the functions that you need depend quite a bit on the type of photography that you go in for.
1. If you are into wildlife photography, look for a camera that includes Center-weighted metering.
Center-weighted metering is considered best by wildlife photographers for the flexibility it offers. With the center-weighted meter the attention is on the center of the frame as the meter reads the light reflected from the subject. The sensitivity of the meter is concentrated on the subject located at the center of the picture frame. You can adjust the size of the sensing area to 8mm, 15mm or 20mm based on the size of the subject and its distance from you. Nikon is credited with introduced the world's first Center-Weighted Meter.

2. For landscape photographers, the key features suggested are -a spot meter, a wide angle lens and a memory exposure lock. These three features are considered the perfect tools for landscapes.
The spot meter allows for creative thinking when you compose your shot because the spot meter has a major role to play when you want to meter only a small portion of the scene. The spot meter allows for concentrating the meter's sensitivity on a chosen spot of the scene during exposure. Using a spot meter can be time consuming but its application in executing creative ideas makes the time spent worthwhile. For instance, taking a shot of the sun setting over the sea or capturing the pattern of snow atop a mountain peak can be done with the help of a spot meter. The memory exposure lock is the mechanism with which you can lock the spot meter reading. The camera will use the locked in reading when you click for an exposure.
A wide-angle lens is capable of highlighting objects in the center or foreground. In landscape photography the tendency is to usually have a prominent object like a tree, landmark or person in the foreground to emphasize the scale of the picture against the distant elements in the scenic setting. This feature brings out the depth in the photograph and the wide-angle lens makes this effect possible.
3.Those who indulge in trekking and mountaineering and are looking for functions that is adaptable in contrasting light conditions such as night-time camp fire or early morning at sunrise or at sun-set, should go in for a feature known as multi segment metering. The multi-segment meter divides the frame into several areas and takes into account the different tones of color in the scene.
4. If you are an inveterate traveler then the camera size and weight should probably be a key consideration. Compact, light cameras are ideal during travel or for trekking.
5. Digital cameras are evolving at a rapid pace in their capabilities. Available to you are cameras that can offer programmed scene modes for different types of photography situations and these options are available to you within the same camera model. For instance, the Kodak Easyshare LS753 zoom digital camera has around nineteen automatic scene modes. The mode can be varied depending on the subject and the scene before you, such as - children, snow, beach, backlight, flower or fireworks. This model also has the night mode for night shots and the sport mode that allows you to capture action without the problem of blurring. If your interest in photography is varied but you dont have the technical knowledge to change the settings for different scenes and subjects, then a digital model with automatic programmed scene modes is your best bet.
6. For beginners still learning the ropes of photography, the criteria for selection should be on features that simplify usage rather than those that complicate the process of learning. For instance, some cameras have a feature called the viewfinder LED. This feature allows the camera to determine the shutter speed that is required for a proper exposure. If you dont use the right setting, the LED changes from green to yellow to give a warning that the shutter speed is too slow to get a sharp picture. This is a form of auto-assistance that can be a big help to a new photography enthusiast.
To sum up, it is imperative that you explore all your options before you make a final purchase, no matter how time-consuming this process may be. The Internet is a great way to do some pre-purchase information search. Do your Internet research to shortlist options - most major camera manufacturers have websites with extensive product descriptions and price details. You can also do your cost comparisons online at sites like shopping.com. Shopping.com lists 410 products in Point and Shoot Cameras, 153 products in 35mm SLR Cameras, 1,500 products in Digital Cameras besides other camera types and accessories.
Once you have a shortlist, make a visit to the retail outlets. Check out a few alternatives brands and models based on your requirements. Assess them on size, weight, ease-of-use of controls and features. A beginner usually looks for a user-friendly model with significant simplicity in operation. Camera models with manual dials are considered easier to use and quicker to learn and manage by some beginners. But some prefer the panel of buttons. Choose the type that suits you. Ease of use in placement of buttons has to be checked. You have to be comfortable with the layout of the various buttons when you handle your camera. The placement of the control layout has to be logical.
And then finally, zero in on the camera that you want. Anyone who wants to experiment, learn and enjoy photography should look for a model that is versatile. For example, your ideal camera could be one with a combination of optical zoom lens of 3x magnification (this is a standard level), a depth of field preview button and an image sensor resolution of at least 3 mega-pixels.
If you make the right choice, your camera system can take you on a long fruitful journey of creativity, learning and fun.

This is an OK, average product. Very basic software, relatively easy to use and I like the fact that it allows a 1gig space on the SD card. The only problem that is very irritating is that you can not randomize the photos. It just loops them in the order they are on the card.

Your girlfriends birthday is coming up, she stays in another city and you really want to do something that will make her special day all the more precious. So what will you gift her to sweep her off her feet once again? How about giving her photo gifts! Well it is not that you can give photo gifts to your girlfriend only; this can be the perfect gift for all those special people in your life like your parents, siblings, spouse and close friends. Photo gifts are just perfect to tell someone that you care of them and they have a special place in your life. Giving someone a gift is an individual choice and there are many options from where you can choose but giving something like photo gifts add your personal touch to it and makes the gift all the more special to the person who gets it.

You may spend lots of money to buy the best gift from the biggest store in your city and chances are that your gift may not be liked too much. However gifting someone photo gifts is a sure means to show how much you care and love them. It is the personalized touch which you will put on the photo gifts that makes it so special, be assured that this gift will be treasured forever. Giving photo gifts is any day better then giving someone a gift which will never be of any use and will stay neglected in some corner of their house. At least photo gifts will ensure that those special memories will be treasured forever. By using a little imagination, you can come up with an incredible gift for the most precious people in your life.

Digital photography has made the process of making photo gifts very simple. All you need is a digital camera to capture those precious moments. Clicking pictures with a digital camera is very easy and these days most people have a digital camera. In fact you do not even need to be a professional photographer to take these pictures. There are many photo sharing companies that help people like you to incorporate your personal pictures to gifts and give it to their family or any other special person. You just need to get in touch with the professional who works to prepare photo gifts for their customers. Tell them how you would like the photo gifts to me made and add your personal touch to it.

You can personalize the photo gifts in many ways. You can get the photo printed on a T-shirt; print the picture on a mug or simply frame the picture and write some memorable words on the framed picture. Suppose your parents anniversary is coming up and you want to give them something which will remain for keeps. Find out that old photo where your entire family can be seen and frame that picture to give it as photo gifts to your parents. To give your personal touch, you can get all your siblings to write down some memorable words on the frame. Now just wait till they open your gift, and see their face light up with delight and surprise on seeing this. Can anything be more pleasant then this?

As the environment and the need to protect it becomes more main stream, the increase in eco-friendly products has exploded over the past few years. Green alternatives to standard products are becoming more and more common.

Solar Power Chargers

Solar Power technology is rapidly coming down in price and making it affordable to the masses. Many new solar powered devices are now flooding the market as cheaper alternatives than electrical plug-ins.

Countries like Spain, France, Australia and South Africa already use solar technology in many areas including street lighting and water tank heating.

Solar Powered Chargers can be found in many electrical stores and on websites as an alternative to mains powered chargers. There are a number of large reputable brands in the marketplace already who have developed universal portable solar chargers, which have many uses. Imagine the following scenarios:

So why would you buy one?

As an explorer, extreme sportsman or a tribesman you are unlikely to have a means to charge your mobile phone in case you need to call for help. You can be very isolated from civilisation and the emergency services that they provide, so the ability to keep your mobile phone charged as a lifeline is paramount. The solar power charger does exactly this and has helped many people around the world already.

Solar power chargers work particularly well for small devices, as the power needed is significantly less. So solar power can now be used as a direct replacement for rechargeable batteries. The solar panel means you'll never have to rely on the power grid to use your phone.

How does it work?

In an ideal world, you need a good 8 to 10 hours of direct sunlight to fully charge the battery of your solar powered charger which you can then use it to charge your mobile phone each night. If you don't have direct sunlight, solar powered chargers will charge in cloudy conditions, but if it's cloudy expect it to take 24 to 48 hours for a charge. The internal battery can hold a charge for up to one year, so you could charge it once, throw it in a drawer and use it in an emergency to charge your phone which is more often than not when your mobile phone hasn't been charged and you need it most!

Generic solar powered chargers comes with a cable that uses a variety of tips for Nokia phones, Motorola and USB powered devices such as iPods and iPhones.

The biggest positive of a solar powered charger is cheap charging, you benefit from unlimited recharging of a variety of electronic devices for free. Solar powered chargers are also a cheap form of insurance against an emergency whilst doubling as a handy device anytime you might need some extra power.

In a era of wi-fi hotspots and hot desking a solar powered charger makes sense.

When models of devices like the ipod shrink, you can be sure their features are as good as those of their bigger-size predecessors if not better. The general tendency in modern design, whether it is about furniture or labour-saving devices is to reduce the space such items need in order to function. Who wants to cram the house with huge elements that will never do more than their smaller counterparts can? This is true for fashion accessories like wrist-watches, handbags and many more. Why load your pockets and shoulders for no reason?

The Apple iPod Mini, which is sized and priced between the original iPod and lower-capacity flash players, retains many of the features that its larger 'brother' provides. Weighing no more than 3.6 ounces, it is also a very small player (3.6/2.0/0.5 inches HWD) compared to the original iPod which was about the size of a deck of cards. Its hard drive capacity of 4GB can hold about 1,000 songs. If you are into tiny technology, the Apple iPod Mini is your perfect choice but if you want a higher song capacity, you had better go for something else. Moreover, the price of the Mini iPod is far too high for the memory it offers.

The modifications that the original Apple iPod underwent for the Mini model to be launched include the controls as well; the four buttons were relocated underneath the click wheel which makes the device easier to handle with just a thumb. The much smaller LCD display is still readable though it has been reduced by 0.3 inches diagonally.

The battery life extends to almost eight hours which is not bad at all but the battery is not user-replaceable; the replacement service offered by Apple or third-parties will take care of that for the time being.

The Apple iPod Mini is very resistant to dirt and grime due to its anodized aluminium body and comes in a variety of metallic colours, with a simple belt clip and no wired remote. It is available with both a FireWire and OSB 2.0 cable which allows you to charge it over the USB connection.

Whether you have a Windows PC or a Mac, you can view your library by album, artist, play-list, song very easily. The Apple iPod Mini can also store various information and provides four preloaded games for you to have fun: Solitaire, Brick, Music Quiz and Parachute. However, the strongest point is probably the excellent iTunes 4 music management software from Apple.

There is nothing you would not dare do while keeping the Mini upon you. The neoprene armband will hold the unit securely while you are jogging or doing other similar activities. The skip protection will take care that your audition is always flawless.

Owners of the Apple iPod Mini don't seem to be very enthusiastic about the in-ear headphones. Though they come in three different size caps to fit anyone's ears, their sound completely lacks in bass and is rather shallow. Yet, the unit is very stylish and has already a lot of fans worldwide.

Luckily there are places on the web where cheap apple ipod mini can be found. Find cheap Apple Ipod mini here http://www.discount-mp3player.com/Apple-iPod/iPod-Mini

VARIATION PARENT: Kodak EasyShare M1020 Digital Picture Frame with Home Decor Kit

Customer Review: Poor documentation. Awkward to use.
I was looking for something simple to use. This is not it. It is not intuitively obvious and the documentation is very poor. Also I can rotate a picture and it stays rotated but if I zoom a picture it reverts back to the original. This is my first experience with a digital frame so maybe I'm just a dummy but I don't recommend it. I didn't load their software because I once bought a Kodak camera and the software for that was very intrusive and annoying.
Customer Review: I like it for basic photos
When I bought this for my grandparents, I was looking for something easy. To be frank, I just wanted a flash drive port. All I had to do was plug the frame in, insert the card, and hit go. Poof! Easy as pie for grandma and grandpa. I have no intent to explore all the features that probably made this so expensive, but if you're in the same situation I am, it works. And on a Mac too. :)

If you're looking for an LCD TV comparison, you're probably already in love with the idea of hanging a flat screen TV on your wall. It's really amazing how technology has progressed to the point where you can hang a big screen TV on your wall, then sit back and enjoy a fantastic HDTV picture of your favorite TV shows or sporting events.

Even more amazing is that as pictures have improved by leaps and bounds, the TVs have gotten thinner, and prices have plummeted. You know that any TV you choose is bound to net you a superb picture and slim form factor.

That being said, you know all the LCD TVs out there can't be the same, can they? Surely there must be some differences, right? Well, yes there are. There are a few things that some TVs do better than others and when making an LCD TV comparison, you should know how to find the differences. Although LCD TV prices have declined substantially in recent years, you want to be sure you're getting the most TV for your money, and the best one for your particular application.

One of the first things to think about is the physical size of the set. If it wasn't so common it would be funny, but people will often make or buy a cabinet, then try to find a TV to fit in the space allocated. Many times they're thwarted form going up to the next larger sized TV because one of the cabinet dimensions is an inch or so too small.

Take the time to choose your TV first, if you have the opportunity. This will also prevent you from designing or buying a cabinet for a particular TV, only to find it's been discontinued when it comes time to buy the TV.

The next thing is to look at some of the new LCD TVs with thin bezels. For example, this can allow you to fit a 40" TV where only a 37" set would fit before. Something to be aware of is that sometimes these extra thin bezel LCD TVs are deeper than their normal beveled cousins. If you're putting your new TV in a cabinet, this may not be a concern to you, but the extra 2" - 3" may make a big difference if you're hanging the set on a wall.

If the TV will fit where you'd like to put it, a check on picture quality is in order. After all your buying a new TV to watch it, and there are some ways you can compare the picture quality to determine which set has a better picture.

One problem with just looking at a set on the showroom floor is that rarely are all the TVs correctly adjusted for the best picture. Often they're shipped and set up in what the industry terms "torch mode". This is slang for having the settings adjusted to take advantage of most customer's preference for the brightest TV they see. If there are 10 TVs lined up, they'll gravitate toward the brightest one. In many cases the brightest TV is not the one with the best picture, especially if it has been adjusted to look artificially bright.

Most LCD TVs, especially 1080p sets, have more than enough brightness for any viewing situation, save putting the set in direct sunlight, but no brightness or contrast adjustment will save you there. The point is that looking at a TV in the showroom will often not provide you with an accurate representation of the set's available picture quality.

When shopping for an LCD TV, a 120Hz refresh rate is one feature that has gone a long way toward eliminating the motion artifact problems that used to be so prevalent in LCD televisions. It is common on most manufacturer's better LCD sets now and is known by many trade names.

Sharp has no trade name for their sets with the 120Hz feature, calling it just "120Hz frame rate conversion", Toshiba uses the moniker "ClearFrame", Mitsubishi prefers "Smooth 120Hz", and Sony's marketing department came up with "Motionflow 120Hz". It all means basically the same thing. Your LCD with this technology will look much better on fast moving images, like sports and scrolling text, than TVs without it.

If you're looking at one of the newest TVs, make sure they have plenty of inputs for connecting your BluRay player, cable box or satellite receiver, computer, or digital camcorder. In many instances, you will connect everything up to your surround sound receiver, then run a single cable to your TV.

For those not using a surround receiver, having plenty of inputs becomes vitally important. Make sure you have art least 3 HDMI inputs so you can get the best possible picture from HD digital video sources. A couple of component video inputs for older sources such as DVD players is a good idea as well.

Most new TVs have a digital tuner built in so you can connect an HDTV antenna and pick up signals broadcast over the air. Some TVs have what's called a QUAM tuner. This will allow you to get unencrypted digital cable programming. In many cases the cable company will broadcast local channels in full HDTV resolution "in the clear". That means they are not encrypted and you can watch them with no cable box, just the QUAM tuner built into your TV.

This will give some things to look for when comparing new LCD TVs. Whatever TV you decide to buy, you will get many years of enjoyment from your new set.

Discover how to find the best LCD TV. One simple thing could separate you from getting the best TV for your application and wasting hundreds of dollars, then ending up with the wrong set. Don't let that happen to you! See the 1080p LCD TV Comparison Guide now.

Customer Review: Kodak M829 Digital Picture Frame
This digital picture frame is very easy to use even without the manual. Everything you need is on the touch screen. Very easy to use from your digital camera, flash drive or the computer. Also the videos that I tried from my digital camera played very well and where clear. I haven't as yet tried any music. The clock feature that turns the picture frame on and off is a very convient idea but be sure you use the 24 hour cycle, I didn't understand this at first and couldn't get mine timer working right. I did have a little trouble coping picture files to my SD card but I think, I need to put them on my computer first and see if that is what is need to get them on my SD card, not sure about this right now, but I will try it and see if that works. Overall I'm very please with the Kodak digital picture frame and would recommend it to anyone as a gift for the Holidays.
Customer Review: Does not work like it says
I purchased this product two days ago and I am taking it back. I purchased this paticular frame because it goes with my Easyshare camera, and I like the word EASY when it comes to some of this Hi Tech stuff. I have to say it was easy to get my photos on, no problem, but The Video feature didn't work. The videos played very slow and the audio was slow and muted, when I played it for the first time it frightened my daughter, she thougth there was a monster in the frame. I called Kodak, they said to send it back. I don't want to purchase another one and have the same problem again.

Photographs are an integral part of life. Thanks to photography, people can document every aspect of their life. These days, it is common to have friends who post photos of their wedding, vacation, new children, etc. on a blog or photo sharing website. Photography has certainly embraced the digital age. While digital photography has some major advantages over conventional photography, the old median should not be forgotten. And those who are not familiar with it should check out the new median of printing pictures on canvas.

The reason that the digital photography median is so popular is because most everyone has access to a digital camera in some form or other. Practically everyone has a cell phone and practically every cell phone sold today also has a digital camera embedded in it. And stand alone digital cameras and their necessary accessories like memory cards are dropping in price every single day. Digital photographs are also extremely easy to share with anyone, anywhere in the world. You do not have to wait for the photographs to be processed. Since they are digital, they are available instantly. Some cameras even have a screen so the photos can be viewed right after they are shot. Digital photographs can be posted to websites, sent through e-mails, or sent directly to another person through a chat application such as iChat.

Although digital photographs are extremely convenient in many senses, there is still something to be said about a photograph that is printed on paper, and can be held, placed in an album, or put in a frame. Most people would rather leave out bound photo albums on the coffee table in the living room for guests to peruse than leave out their computer and have a guest searching their computer for image files. Printed photographs are also much more appropriate to give as gifts.

Although e-mailing somebody a photograph is a thoughtful gesture, I don't think anyone would consider it to be a gift. A new and exciting median that is especially appropriate for gift giving is printing pictures on canvas. It is now possible to take almost any digital photograph and place it on the same material that one might find an elegant oil painting painted on. All printing pictures on canvas are done by hand. That is, all the sealing and stretching is done by hand.

Besides being a neat and unique gift, photographs on this median can last as long as one hundred years when kept in museum conditions. That is much longer than any print photograph will last. Even digital files can become corrupted. And hard drives can break and burn out. Most computers can barely last a couple of years, let alone one hundred years!

To have a picture converted into this median can be done for as little as twenty-five dollars for an eight-inch by ten-inch picture. A twenty-inch by thirty-four inch picture cost approximately one hundred dollars. That's only one dollar per year for a picture that will last a century.

A camcorder is a portable device for recording audio and video using a built-in recorder unit. These were actually designed for television broadcasting. The modern age camcorders come with latest advanced technology with advanced features. Camcorders contain 3 major components: imager, lens, and recorder. The final component lens gathers and focuses light on the imager. The imager section is the eye of the camcorder Imager section converts light into an electronic video signal through an elaborate electronic process. The recorder section is responsible for writing the video-signal on to a recording medium.

There are several types of storage devices are used in Camcorders such as VHS, Video8, Betamax, Digital8, miniDV, DVD, Hard drive and solid-state (flash) semiconductor memory etc. Among these VHS, Video8, Betamax are the analog storage media and rests are digital. The highest-quality digital formats have the advantage over analog of suffering little generation loss in recording, dubbing, and editing.

Most other digital consumer camcorders record in HDV or DV format on tape and transfer content over FireWire to a computer, where the huge properties files can be edited, converted, and also recorded back to tape. There are also compact recording devices out there in the market which supports the HDD format and memory stick duo card slot. A mini DV cassette is also used as storage media in some brands..

Latest camcorders come with the features like the noise reduction, built in speakers, touch screen control, progressive shutter system, auto power save etc. The cameras are also equipped with advanced shooting modes like frame movie, spotlight, beach and snow, digital photo and manual. They have built-in special effects like auto fade, mirror, mosaics, art, slim stretch and tracer. By using these special effects the images can be effectively faded as black, overlap and window wipe.

If you are looking for a compact sized camera with all the required features then the pocket digital camcorder is the best option. These kind of light weighted cameras come with a good viewfinder instead of LCD display the cameras come with. The cameras have integrated memory and video input too. These cameras have a sensor resolution of 5 pixels. In these camcorders the multi media card and secure digital card can be supported. The special effects also include sepia, black and white and negative.

Users favour portability, ease of use and affordable price, the camcorder manufacturers emphasis these features more than raw technical performance. There are manufacturers like Sony, Panasonic, Samsung, Philips are there in the market which produces superior quality camcorders. Among all these manufacturers Sony Camcorders are one of the best selling camcorders across the world. The Samsung Camcorders are also in the fray for the top slot.

During this celebration period as Christmas, New Year, there will be many firework shows in many places. Therefore, there are a lot of opportunities to photograph firework photos.

What do you need for taking firework photos?

Camera: the one that has "Bulb" shutter speed is preferable.

Wide and normal zoom lens: 10-22 mm, 16-35 mm, 18-55 mm, 24-70mm, etc. Zoom lenses have more flexibility to frame your photos. However, there are no solid rules which focal length should be used because it depends on how far of you and fireworks, how big of the fireworks are, etc.

Tripod: You really need it because of long shutter speed while taking firework photos. You must keep your camera still otherwise your photos will be blurred.

Remote switch: It helps you to keep your camera completely still while photographing firework shots. When you use "Bulb (B)" shutter, you should not press directly to a camera shutter button because it causes the camera to be unstable. Therefore, you can not get sharp and clear photos.

There are some optional things that you may be able to consider as listed below:

Black cap: It's used for protecting lighting when you want to photograph many fireworks in one shot.

Food and drink: You may wait for awhile before fireworks will be commenced. Therefore, you may need food and drink.

Flashlight: It helps you to find anything in the dark.

Small chair: In case of wait for a long time

Umbrella: In case of raining

Where and when you should go for taking firework photos?

The best place to photograph fireworks should be any tall building around the fireworks area about 0.5-1.5 km from where the fireworks will be shown. You must be able to pan your camera without any obstructions in your viewfinder. Moreover, it should be upwind direction too.

You must go to your location as early as possible because there will be a lot of photographers and speculators. You must remember that the location is everything for taking fireworks photos. The better location you are, the better photos you will get.

How to photograph fireworks?

What you should prepare prior to taking firework photos as follows:

1. Be on location as early as possible and select the best location. The best location is the location where you can see the fireworks without any obstructions and there is interesting foreground or background as buildings, bridges, river, lake, etc.

2. Set your camera on Tripod firmly

3. Set the parameters in the camera as follows:

Mode: M, Manual

Auto focus: Off or Manual

ISO: 100

Shutter speed: Bulb, B

Aperture: vary from F5.6 to F11

Focal length: Infinity

File type: Raw file is preferred because you have more flexibility to process your photos after.

Memory Card: 2 GB at least so that you will not lose your opportunity to take photos due to memory full.

WB: Auto

4. Set good composition by including nice foreground or background as building(s), pool(s), lake(s), bridge(s), river(s), etc. Use rule of third to get the nice composition. There are 2 ways to frame your fireworks photo which are horizontal or vertical. It depends on how your fireworks look like. If your fireworks are one big and long shot, you may need to frame your photos vertically. In other words, if you want to capture wide angle of fireworks, you may need to flame your photos horizontally.

5. Set your remote switch with your camera and test its function.

Let's photograph fireworks:

1. Once you hear explosion, you start to press and hold a remote switch button. Then you look at the fireworks showing their magic until it disappears and then release the button. Normally, it takes about 5-9 second depending on how long of each firework shot is.

If this is your first shot, please check a photo shown on your LCD and see how the composition and lighting look like. You may need to adjust the camera, the focal length and aperture in order to get the nice composition and lighting. Please do in quickly and continue taking fireworks photos.

2. If you would like to take many fireworks in one shot, please use the following tips:

2.1 When the first firework is shot, press and hold the remote switch button. Then when the first one fades out, put the black cap in front of your lens in order to prevent light coming to your photo while you are still pressing the remote switch button. You must not touch any part of your camera so that your photo will not blur due to camera being moved.

2.2 When the second firework is shot, take the black cap out and wait until the second firework fades out. After that you put the back cap in front of your lens again.

2.3 When you do not want to add any fireworks in your photo, you just release the remote switch button. You can repeatedly use these techniques in order to take many fireworks in one shot. However, you should be prudent with this tip because if you try to take too many fireworks in one shot, your photo will be too over exposure and your photo will be the flashy shot. Normally, I use this tip to get only 2 to 3 fireworks in one shot.

3. Check your photos periodically. You may have time to check your photos because the fireworks are shot periodically. You may change the composition and/or delete some bad photos in order to reserve the memory space.

These are guidelines to help you to photograph fireworks. Let's try and have fun with fireworks.

The Leica digital camera reviews will include the C-LUX 2, which runs about $450. This camera has 7.2 megapixels with three times optical zoom. This camera is very similar to Panasonics DMC- FX30. It is a very easy-to-use camera is lightweight, compact and has image stabilization. The only downfall to this camera is it uses a custom Liton battery, which could cost you some money if you need to replace it. This camera does not need a viewfinder because it offers a two and a half inch viewing screen so you can see exactly what you are shooting.

Other Leica digital camera reviews include the D-LUX 3, Digilux 3, M8 and the V-LUX1. The Digilux 3 and the M8 have very high price tags. The Digilux 3 is SLR digital camera with 7.5 megapixels and a two and a half inch viewing screen. The nice thing about this camera is it can hold a memory card larger than two gigabytes. This camera has the ability to shoot three frames per second.

The M8 camera is a 10.3 megapixels camera that has a price of fifty-four hundred dollars. This camera is not for the beginning photographer. The performance of this camera is outstanding. This camera does not have autofocus, so the user will need to know the fundamentals of photography and camera use.

Leica digital camera reviews help you find a camera that has very little to no problems. It also tells you about the features, function and any accessories that come with the camera. The reviews can help you find the perfect camera. If you read the reviews, you will be able to compare other cameras and decide which one would be best suited for your needs. You can determine what are the best cameras by reading what other users have to say about the cameras.

While Leica is one of the best when it comes to recommended digital cameras, they're certainly not the only game in town. There are equal and better cameras around, you just need to know where to look.

Much of my work involves shooting photos for newspapers and business journals. When I show up for an assigned photo shoot, I often find my subjects as interested in the camera I use as they are in having me take their picture.

Admittedly, my professional single lenses reflex camera makes a good appearance. It is relatively large and heavy, has an impressive zoom lenses with a vibration reduction feature to keep it steady, a big battery pack, and a compact speed light that can brighten up the darkest room.

The camera envy often dissipates though when they ask what an outfit like that costs, and I tell them more than $3,000. What novice camera enthusiasts don't recognize is that this kind of professional equipment is way more than they need for good photos of family, vacation views and scenic landscapes.

Experience has taught me that when buying a new digital camera six points things should be kept in mind.

1. Basic camera types
The two main types of cameras, from lower-cost to higher-end is point-and-shoot and SLR (single lenses reflex). In the point-and-shoot end, the view is usually through a view finder which gives the photographer a good idea of what will be on the final photo. The SLR lets you look right through the lens to compose a photo exactly as you want the final view to look.

2. Size and ease of use
Do you want to be able to shove the camera in a pocket, purse or tote bag to have it handy whenever you want to whip it out? Or, ask yourself if you would mind a heavier camera that should be kept in its own leather pouch? Consider how heavy a camera might feel after having it hang around your neck or on a shoulder strap fora couple of hours. Can you just whip it out and shoot your photo, or do must you make adjustments in settings? You photo opportunity might be gone by the time you fiddle with dials and settings.

3. Pixels versus your end product
A few years ago, the amount of pixels (which determines the amount of digital information captured), governed the cost. One or two megapixel cameras were fine for viewing photos on a computer screen and sharing over the internet. If you are going to be satisfied just getting 4-inch by 6-inch prints, anything over two megapixels will meet you needs.

If you want to have enlargements made to hang on the wall or in a picture frame, you should look for a camera with four megapixels or better. The more information a camera can capture (megapixels), the higher the quality of an enlargement will be. Today, with technology advances and competition for new camera buyers, even moderately priced cameras have six-to eight-megapixel sensors.

4. What's your budget?
Just like cars, cameras can come with a ton of options. Be careful, though, that don't get stuck with more camera than you can afford. While the high-end cameras offer the best zoom and more megapixels, that doesn't always mean a better photo, and the added features can take a huge bite out of your wallet if you are not careful.

It is probably better to start out with a low-end camera and concentrate on learning the basics of good photography. You'll be pleasantly surprised by the results in your family snapshots if you follow the tips in one of the beginner photo instruction books found everywhere.

5. My biggest piece of advice
The best photos last for only and instant. Good photographers can learn to watch for expression, a good pose and just the right angle. Inevitably, I can get a better photo that someone standing next to me with a low-end point-and-shoot. That's because of lag time.

When I see just the expression or pose I want, I press the shutter button and the reaction time of the camera is as close to instantaneous as possible. Point and shoot cameras vary in the time they take to focus and respond to the press of the shutter button. Often, a pre-flash is needed to measure the amount of light needed to capture a subject in an indoor setting. It's not unusual for a second or two lag time in some cameras - long enough that more shots are lost than captured just right.

Study the technical specifications and consider that shutter lag time, or ask a competent sales person to help you find the best camera, weighing that lag time against cost. Better to give up other features to get a fast response from your camera's shutter.

6. Final advice
Spend time on the internet and do your homework. There are a myriad of sales, review and educational sites that will give you all the information you need to make a wise decision. Before going to see a camera store sales person, or before ordering over the internet, educate yourself.

The time you spend in that advance research will help you make the best of all decisions in you camera purchase.

Kodak EasyShare SV811 8-inch Digital Picture Frame

Kodak EASYSHARE SV811 Digital Picture Frame is perfect for on-the-spot viewing of digital pictures and videos from any digital camera, home PC via USB and all memory cards.
Customer Review: Great Pricing for Great Item. Shipping was fast
Item was received quickly. Item is great to hold pictures and play videos. Great as gift for family and friends
Customer Review: An OK frame for the money
This is an OK, average product. Very basic software, relatively easy to use and I like the fact that it allows a 1gig space on the SD card. The only problem that is very irritating is that you can not randomize the photos. It just loops them in the order they are on the card.

Digital Camera Software

A combination of a digital camera, a color scanner and image manipulation software is highly recommended. The software digital camera software that is included also provides professional level workflow solutions for seamless use.

Most of the software is designed for digital camera users, compatible with most current digital camera models.

photo editing software & photo printing software that's renown for its ease of use. At last there's easy-to-use digital camera software for both home and business users.

Image

The image sensor employed by most digital cameras is a charge coupled device (CCD). Some current digital camera models store combinations of video (MPEG or AVI movies), image sequences or sound. Although Canon's images are slightly better, the Casio is an ultra-thin, sleek digital camera that doesn't sacrifice overall image quality.

Easy-to-understand information about digital cameras, accessories, image editing and more. Image quality depends on the resolution of the digital camera. To make image files smaller almost every digital camera uses some form of compression. This EasyShare digital camera's resolution of 5 megapixels, 3x optical zoom and an all-glass lens combine for amazing image detail and clarity.

With an image stabilizer, this digital camera produces clear, even images even in shaky conditions. Resolution is the most talked about digital camera characteristic and is often used to describe image quality.

If you have the option, choose optical rather than digital image stabilization in your camera. It is probably the best digital camera made and produces image quality that rivals medium format film (e.g., 6x6cm Hasselblad).

Image processing for single-sensor digital camera: a mathematical challenge This entry is from Wikipedia, the leading user-contributed encyclopedia. A typical slave unit will fire on the pre-flash it senses while the digital camera captures the image on the last flash. The image quality available from digital cameras is astonishingly good.

Film

In fact, a digital camera is better quality than a film camera in many important respects! The digital cameras enjoy the advantage of a built-in digital signal processor that your roll of film doesn't have.

Add an external or speed light flash to your digital camera or film camera. Many digital cameras are comparable to a 35 mm camera in price without the extra added cost of buying or developing film. Back to top Printing pictures Unlike with film cameras, you can print digital photos at home.

Is considering laying off the development of new film cameras as it focuses resources on its digital camera business. Though digital cameras don't use film, they have adopted the same rating system for describing the sensitivity of the camera's imaging sensor. So far, very few digital cameras have been produced with a receptor using the full size of 35mm film.

Whether you're using film or a digital camera, bring a sturdy tripod. Shooting with a digital camera is somewhat like shooting slide film. A couple years ago, I got into the digital camera thing to the point that I pretty much parked my roll film cameras. The digital camera scenario is similar in that mega pixels are similar to film size. To design and build a high performance digital cine camera with the quality of 35mm film and convenience of a camcorder.

Quality

The quality of your pictures can be enhanced by the digital camera accessory you choose. You'll find quality brands of digital cameras, 35mm cameras, lenses, video cameras, memory cards and camera accessories at great prices. An easy to use quality digital camera purchase will be fully used by staff and students. However, not all digital cameras can produce prints of the same quality. I wanted a go-anywhere high quality digital camera that's user-friendly with both auto & manual controls. At the cheaper end of the digital camera scale, the quality can be remarkable for the price.

Buy

It is better to buy a digital camera with a 100% glass lens for the best pictures. Many retailers advertise their best buy digital camera as one with a plastic lens. You should also look for the best buy digital camera packages with the most RAM that you can afford. A lot of unscrupulous retailers will advertise a price for a best buy digital camera but then charge high shipping costs.

Finally, ensure that you have accounted for any shipping costs before you make your final decision over which best buy digital camera you purchase. There's never been a better time to buy a digital camera. Having to buy re-chargeable batteries and a charger will typically add from $20 to $100 to the cost of your digital camera.

As a person constantly taking photos I made this page as a lot of people keep asking me what digital camera they should buy. Find discount computers, cheap digital camera, buy digital cameras. Try before you buy - I've always been a firm believer that you should handle a digital camera before you buy it.

Size

Experienced digital camera users know pixel size isn't everything. The small size and versatility allow easy integration of digital cameras into all parts of the curriculum. If you care more about price and features than compact size, choose a standard size digital camera.

There are three basic "sizes" of digital cameras, and knowing what size camera suits your needs will make your search much simpler. For digital SLR cameras with interchangeable lenses it's more difficult as different cameras have different size sensors. This is why I am currently looking for an extra digital camera featuring a minimal size combined with a maximum amount of useful features.

These are about the size of a matchbook and used in digital cameras made by Nikon, Canon, Kodak and many others. When choosing a digital camera you have to think about the resolution of the pictures, size and memory. A larger inner diameter makes the L-Ring 3200 perfect no matter the lens size of your digital camera. This has nothing to do with your camera being digital it is entirely a result of smaller frame size.

Video

Webcams are digital cameras attached to computers, used for video conferencing or other purposes. However, modern digital photography cameras have a video function, and a growing number of camcorders have a still photography function. Modern compact digital cameras are typically multifunctional, with some devices capable of taking photographs, video, and/or sound.

Classification Digital cameras can be classified into several groups: Video cameras Professional video cameras such as those used in television and movie production. Some digital cameras have direct video out..... Another alternative, although not directly a digital one, would be to purchase one of the analog peephole video cameras.

Lens

The super multi layer lens coating reduces flare and ghost, a common problem with digital cameras. The vast majority of digital cameras are "point-and-shoot" models with a single, non-interchangeable lens. Because auto focusing in most digital cameras is done through the lens, the focus shift is automatically taken care of. Focus and Exposure: Fixed-focus digital cameras have a lens that is preset to focus at a certain range. These depend on the actual (as opposed to relative) diameter of the lens aperture, which makes them especially painful for digital cameras.

Memory

You can find a memory card reader or extra battery to keep your digital camera powered up for any circumstance. Some professional digital cameras and memory card readers connect to the computer over FireWire. SD is now the most popular type of digital camera memory. Many types of memory cards are available for use with your digital camera. Files deleted from PC, digital camera or memory stick can be restored with high speed and reliability. When using your digital camera to make movies it is also very important to have ample Flash Memory on hand too.

Battery

All digital cameras can run on rechargeable batteries of one of two types: an expensive battery pack or a set of AA batteries. A battery is taped to the inside cover of the box that the Olympus digital camera came in. Take a few moments to look around, keep your camcorder, digital camera or laptop computer working like new with a fresh battery today! The Digital Camera Battery can power two devices at the same time and has adjustable outputs that match each device automatically.
