Customer Review: Poor documentation. Awkward to use.
I was looking for something simple to use. This is not it. It is not intuitively obvious and the documentation is very poor. Also I can rotate a picture and it stays rotated but if I zoom a picture it reverts back to the original. This is my first experience with a digital frame so maybe I'm just a dummy but I don't recommend it. I didn't load their software because I once bought a Kodak camera and the software for that was very intrusive and annoying.
Customer Review: I like it for basic photos
When I bought this for my grandparents, I was looking for something easy. To be frank, I just wanted a flash drive port. All I had to do was plug the frame in, insert the card, and hit go. Poof! Easy as pie for grandma and grandpa. I have no intent to explore all the features that probably made this so expensive, but if you're in the same situation I am, it works. And on a Mac too. :)

Much of my work involves shooting photos for newspapers and business journals. When I show up for an assigned photo shoot, I often find my subjects as interested in the camera I use as they are in having me take their picture.

Admittedly, my professional single lenses reflex camera makes a good appearance. It is relatively large and heavy, has an impressive zoom lenses with a vibration reduction feature to keep it steady, a big battery pack, and a compact speed light that can brighten up the darkest room.

The camera envy often dissipates though when they ask what an outfit like that costs, and I tell them more than $3,000. What novice camera enthusiasts don't recognize is that this kind of professional equipment is way more than they need for good photos of family, vacation views and scenic landscapes.

Experience has taught me that when buying a new digital camera six points things should be kept in mind.

1. Basic camera types
The two main types of cameras, from lower-cost to higher-end is point-and-shoot and SLR (single lenses reflex). In the point-and-shoot end, the view is usually through a view finder which gives the photographer a good idea of what will be on the final photo. The SLR lets you look right through the lens to compose a photo exactly as you want the final view to look.

2. Size and ease of use
Do you want to be able to shove the camera in a pocket, purse or tote bag to have it handy whenever you want to whip it out? Or, ask yourself if you would mind a heavier camera that should be kept in its own leather pouch? Consider how heavy a camera might feel after having it hang around your neck or on a shoulder strap fora couple of hours. Can you just whip it out and shoot your photo, or do must you make adjustments in settings? You photo opportunity might be gone by the time you fiddle with dials and settings.

3. Pixels versus your end product
A few years ago, the amount of pixels (which determines the amount of digital information captured), governed the cost. One or two megapixel cameras were fine for viewing photos on a computer screen and sharing over the internet. If you are going to be satisfied just getting 4-inch by 6-inch prints, anything over two megapixels will meet you needs.

If you want to have enlargements made to hang on the wall or in a picture frame, you should look for a camera with four megapixels or better. The more information a camera can capture (megapixels), the higher the quality of an enlargement will be. Today, with technology advances and competition for new camera buyers, even moderately priced cameras have six-to eight-megapixel sensors.

4. What's your budget?
Just like cars, cameras can come with a ton of options. Be careful, though, that don't get stuck with more camera than you can afford. While the high-end cameras offer the best zoom and more megapixels, that doesn't always mean a better photo, and the added features can take a huge bite out of your wallet if you are not careful.

It is probably better to start out with a low-end camera and concentrate on learning the basics of good photography. You'll be pleasantly surprised by the results in your family snapshots if you follow the tips in one of the beginner photo instruction books found everywhere.

5. My biggest piece of advice
The best photos last for only and instant. Good photographers can learn to watch for expression, a good pose and just the right angle. Inevitably, I can get a better photo that someone standing next to me with a low-end point-and-shoot. That's because of lag time.

When I see just the expression or pose I want, I press the shutter button and the reaction time of the camera is as close to instantaneous as possible. Point and shoot cameras vary in the time they take to focus and respond to the press of the shutter button. Often, a pre-flash is needed to measure the amount of light needed to capture a subject in an indoor setting. It's not unusual for a second or two lag time in some cameras - long enough that more shots are lost than captured just right.

Study the technical specifications and consider that shutter lag time, or ask a competent sales person to help you find the best camera, weighing that lag time against cost. Better to give up other features to get a fast response from your camera's shutter.

6. Final advice
Spend time on the internet and do your homework. There are a myriad of sales, review and educational sites that will give you all the information you need to make a wise decision. Before going to see a camera store sales person, or before ordering over the internet, educate yourself.

The time you spend in that advance research will help you make the best of all decisions in you camera purchase.

Kodak EasyShare SV811 8-inch Digital Picture Frame

Kodak EASYSHARE SV811 Digital Picture Frame is perfect for on-the-spot viewing of digital pictures and videos from any digital camera, home PC via USB and all memory cards.
Customer Review: Great Pricing for Great Item. Shipping was fast
Item was received quickly. Item is great to hold pictures and play videos. Great as gift for family and friends
Customer Review: An OK frame for the money
This is an OK, average product. Very basic software, relatively easy to use and I like the fact that it allows a 1gig space on the SD card. The only problem that is very irritating is that you can not randomize the photos. It just loops them in the order they are on the card.

Digital Camera Software

A combination of a digital camera, a color scanner and image manipulation software is highly recommended. The software digital camera software that is included also provides professional level workflow solutions for seamless use.

Most of the software is designed for digital camera users, compatible with most current digital camera models.

photo editing software & photo printing software that's renown for its ease of use. At last there's easy-to-use digital camera software for both home and business users.

Image

The image sensor employed by most digital cameras is a charge coupled device (CCD). Some current digital camera models store combinations of video (MPEG or AVI movies), image sequences or sound. Although Canon's images are slightly better, the Casio is an ultra-thin, sleek digital camera that doesn't sacrifice overall image quality.

Easy-to-understand information about digital cameras, accessories, image editing and more. Image quality depends on the resolution of the digital camera. To make image files smaller almost every digital camera uses some form of compression. This EasyShare digital camera's resolution of 5 megapixels, 3x optical zoom and an all-glass lens combine for amazing image detail and clarity.

With an image stabilizer, this digital camera produces clear, even images even in shaky conditions. Resolution is the most talked about digital camera characteristic and is often used to describe image quality.

If you have the option, choose optical rather than digital image stabilization in your camera. It is probably the best digital camera made and produces image quality that rivals medium format film (e.g., 6x6cm Hasselblad).

Image processing for single-sensor digital camera: a mathematical challenge This entry is from Wikipedia, the leading user-contributed encyclopedia. A typical slave unit will fire on the pre-flash it senses while the digital camera captures the image on the last flash. The image quality available from digital cameras is astonishingly good.

Film

In fact, a digital camera is better quality than a film camera in many important respects! The digital cameras enjoy the advantage of a built-in digital signal processor that your roll of film doesn't have.

Add an external or speed light flash to your digital camera or film camera. Many digital cameras are comparable to a 35 mm camera in price without the extra added cost of buying or developing film. Back to top Printing pictures Unlike with film cameras, you can print digital photos at home.

Is considering laying off the development of new film cameras as it focuses resources on its digital camera business. Though digital cameras don't use film, they have adopted the same rating system for describing the sensitivity of the camera's imaging sensor. So far, very few digital cameras have been produced with a receptor using the full size of 35mm film.

Whether you're using film or a digital camera, bring a sturdy tripod. Shooting with a digital camera is somewhat like shooting slide film. A couple years ago, I got into the digital camera thing to the point that I pretty much parked my roll film cameras. The digital camera scenario is similar in that mega pixels are similar to film size. To design and build a high performance digital cine camera with the quality of 35mm film and convenience of a camcorder.

Quality

The quality of your pictures can be enhanced by the digital camera accessory you choose. You'll find quality brands of digital cameras, 35mm cameras, lenses, video cameras, memory cards and camera accessories at great prices. An easy to use quality digital camera purchase will be fully used by staff and students. However, not all digital cameras can produce prints of the same quality. I wanted a go-anywhere high quality digital camera that's user-friendly with both auto & manual controls. At the cheaper end of the digital camera scale, the quality can be remarkable for the price.

Buy

It is better to buy a digital camera with a 100% glass lens for the best pictures. Many retailers advertise their best buy digital camera as one with a plastic lens. You should also look for the best buy digital camera packages with the most RAM that you can afford. A lot of unscrupulous retailers will advertise a price for a best buy digital camera but then charge high shipping costs.

Finally, ensure that you have accounted for any shipping costs before you make your final decision over which best buy digital camera you purchase. There's never been a better time to buy a digital camera. Having to buy re-chargeable batteries and a charger will typically add from $20 to $100 to the cost of your digital camera.

As a person constantly taking photos I made this page as a lot of people keep asking me what digital camera they should buy. Find discount computers, cheap digital camera, buy digital cameras. Try before you buy - I've always been a firm believer that you should handle a digital camera before you buy it.

Size

Experienced digital camera users know pixel size isn't everything. The small size and versatility allow easy integration of digital cameras into all parts of the curriculum. If you care more about price and features than compact size, choose a standard size digital camera.

There are three basic "sizes" of digital cameras, and knowing what size camera suits your needs will make your search much simpler. For digital SLR cameras with interchangeable lenses it's more difficult as different cameras have different size sensors. This is why I am currently looking for an extra digital camera featuring a minimal size combined with a maximum amount of useful features.

These are about the size of a matchbook and used in digital cameras made by Nikon, Canon, Kodak and many others. When choosing a digital camera you have to think about the resolution of the pictures, size and memory. A larger inner diameter makes the L-Ring 3200 perfect no matter the lens size of your digital camera. This has nothing to do with your camera being digital it is entirely a result of smaller frame size.

Video

Webcams are digital cameras attached to computers, used for video conferencing or other purposes. However, modern digital photography cameras have a video function, and a growing number of camcorders have a still photography function. Modern compact digital cameras are typically multifunctional, with some devices capable of taking photographs, video, and/or sound.

Classification Digital cameras can be classified into several groups: Video cameras Professional video cameras such as those used in television and movie production. Some digital cameras have direct video out..... Another alternative, although not directly a digital one, would be to purchase one of the analog peephole video cameras.

Lens

The super multi layer lens coating reduces flare and ghost, a common problem with digital cameras. The vast majority of digital cameras are "point-and-shoot" models with a single, non-interchangeable lens. Because auto focusing in most digital cameras is done through the lens, the focus shift is automatically taken care of. Focus and Exposure: Fixed-focus digital cameras have a lens that is preset to focus at a certain range. These depend on the actual (as opposed to relative) diameter of the lens aperture, which makes them especially painful for digital cameras.

Memory

You can find a memory card reader or extra battery to keep your digital camera powered up for any circumstance. Some professional digital cameras and memory card readers connect to the computer over FireWire. SD is now the most popular type of digital camera memory. Many types of memory cards are available for use with your digital camera. Files deleted from PC, digital camera or memory stick can be restored with high speed and reliability. When using your digital camera to make movies it is also very important to have ample Flash Memory on hand too.

Battery

All digital cameras can run on rechargeable batteries of one of two types: an expensive battery pack or a set of AA batteries. A battery is taped to the inside cover of the box that the Olympus digital camera came in. Take a few moments to look around, keep your camcorder, digital camera or laptop computer working like new with a fresh battery today! The Digital Camera Battery can power two devices at the same time and has adjustable outputs that match each device automatically.

The fact is, there are not many people out there looking for stainless steel coffee maker. They would usually be looking for a particular brand or genre of coffee makers rather than the materials.

However, it is interesting to note that there are still a few person coming to me and asking me about my evaluation on stainless steel coffee maker. It is only after some fact finding that I realized, that some of them are looking for a percolator.

And that is the reason why I highlighted in my title that some of you might not be looking for a stainless steel coffee maker. This is because many people associate stainless steel with percolator coffee maker.

However, there are the majority of you that are actually looking for a drip filter programmable coffee maker that comes with a thermal carafe. It looks stainless steel, but there are actually more plastic than steel for these coffee makers.

So, for those that are not looking for a percolator, ascertain the brand of the coffee maker and it would make your search so much easier. Otherwise, decide on the function you want, for example, single cup, programmable or thermal capability.

This would assist you to shorten your time in identifying and buying your desired coffee maker.

Now, for those that are looking for percolator, there are 2 types of percolator in the market. The first percolate by forcing the boiling water which is under pressure through the coffee ground into a separate chamber. The other type percolate by continually cycling boiling brew through the coffee ground using gravity until the strength you want is attained.

If I would to recommend a stainless steel coffee maker, then it would be the cuisinart coffee percolator PRC-12. This is an electric 12 cup percolator that pipes hot water through the coffee grounds then pulses up into the transparent knob. And this would result in a rich, full flavored coffee.

Other than the great perked coffee that you are able to get from the cuisinart coffee percolator PRC 12, personally, I love the speed of this particular model. Whether it is 4 cups or 12 cups, this coffee maker can perk your coffee in approximately 8 minutes.

For coffee lovers, sometimes waiting a minute is a drag, thus speed is one value add, don't you think so?

Although this cuisinart stainless percolator coffee maker does great perk coffee, I must say that not everybody is suitable for perk coffee. The distinct taste can be comparable to the intensity of espresso that not everyone would like.

Thus, if you are someone starting to drink coffee or someone that loves a good coffee to "wake" you up. My suggestion for you is to go for something more conventional like a drip filter coffee maker.

Or, if you are someone that looks for convenient, then you might want to consider a single serve coffee maker.

Well, the stainless steel coffee maker might not be what you are looking for, but I think I have given quite a few alternatives that might assist in your caffeine needs...

LCD TVs are getting more widespread attention these days. And even though CRT is not going to be extinct in the near future it sure is getting a big whack on the head by LCDs. An LCD TV is more expensive that CRT that's for sure and for a large size LCD the price can be really expensive. But they are still cheaper that the plasmas and on some model the LCD even deliver better images than plasmas. Since this is a big ticket item you really should take your time researching and this article intend to help you to choose the best.

Here is a short list of things you need to consider if you're in the market for LCD TV. I deliberately put the non-technical stuff first because they are often overlooked.

Space

Everyone wants the biggest tv they can afford but where will you going to put it? If you intend to put your LCD tv in the bedroom even a 40" will look pretty big. Whatever size you choose make sure it will not add a clutter to your room.

Location

Some TVs gets a glossy screen and glare problem when put in a bright room. So if "TV room" gets allot of sunlight check the reviews online just in case it gets any of these problems. If you buy it on an brick and mortar store it's even easier to check. Stare at the TV from different angles and see if it glares back at you.

Shipping

If you decided to buy online. Shipping can be a problem. But i'm not talking about delayed shipping or something like that but the damages that might occurred when you're TV is being shipped. A good shipping company will inspect you're TV once it arrived at your door. If the delivery guy doesn't bother to check the TV after you sign the receipt make sure he stays there while you do the inspection for any possible damages. Hook up the cable, turn it on and see if the picture is perfectly acceptable.

Price

Bigger screen, bigger price. It's as simple as that. But when you're comparing two TVs with the same screen size a more expensive one doesn't necessarily better. An LCD tv will cost you thousands of dollars and you really should be picky on your selection.

Picture

When you're buying an LCD TV on a brick and mortar store it's easy to compare the pictures cause the TVs are placed side by side. But when you're only seeing their pictures online your best bet is the reviews. Buyers that disappointed with bad quality pictures will definitely scream their heart out online.

Speakers

Built-in speakers are mostly average quality but for me it's okay since my ears can't understand the difference between average and high quality sound ( especially during regular tv programs ). You, on the other hand, may need to get some quality speakers if you're one of those who have super sensitive ears (which i envy btw)

Style

Some look great some look dull. Even though your LCD TV provide great pictures but if it looks like a glass wrapped in a plastic frame you'll be embarrassed when you're neighbor decided to watch the ball game with you. Another problem is the TV frame/enclosure. If it's too glossy it will certainly reflects some of the lights which might distract your from that movie you're watching. Also consider your interior to see if the TV will stand out too much or blend perfectly. Personally i prefer to change my room interior to match the TV than vice versa. But that just me.

High Definition?

Definitely get the HD one. It is THE future of television. If you don't get a full HD tv you'll be missing a lot of fun experience with your tv.

Have you ever seen a reproduction of an old master painting on a poster, and then seen the original in a museum? The difference is only in the material: the reproduction is only a photo print on paper, which looks flat and lifeless and lacks texture, while the original is painted directly onto canvas, which has a beautiful nature texture visible to the eye. Canvas also brings out the best pigments in the painting. What's more, its subjects look truly alive and human - look into the eyes of the Mona Lisa and you will feel she is looking back at you. This masterful artistic effect can only be achieved with canvas.

Have you ever looked at your own photos after they have been printed and thought they seemed kind of lifeless - that they didn't truly capture the emotion, vitality and artistry of the shot?

Well, try the latest new thing: photo printing on canvas. It makes your photo prints truly special, its texture bringing out the life and beauty of your image. Capturing the shot is only half the battle; all the beauty of the original shot can be lost in an instant with a bad print. It might seem like an unusual idea, but that's what has been attracting so many people to it recently, including professionals, business people, artists and amateur photographers. It is an unusual idea. Printing your photos on canvas is an artistic way of displaying your photos, a special, thoughtful gift for a loved one.

Canvas printing involves a lot of laborious and delicate work, and it's best to entrust the job to true professionals in the business who will do the job with care and skill won from years of experience. Wouldn't you rather receive a gift that's been lovingly and carefully worked on rather than one that's been spat out by a printing machine? That's what you get when you choose canvas over paper. Canvas printing truly offers the human touch. It has to be worked on by hand, to stretch, seal and frame the material. The print also has to be protected by using only the finest materials. The print has to be made with UV-resistant pigments and sealed with a water-resistant sealer. Canvas printing, all in all, is not an impersonal process like paper printing. Spend some time, thought and care on a gift, rather than money, and you will realize the true joy of gift-giving.

You might think that such a process would involve great expense, especially when you take into account the amazing quality of the print and its unbelievable durability (it lasts a good hundred years if you take care of it). But it's surprisingly cheap - a basic print comes for less than $30 at some of the best companies. More customized prints also come at reasonable rates. It's more than worth it for the human touch. What's more, with a reputed company, you will get a full guarantee on the product if you're not completely satisfied. Try it out. You have nothing to lose.

Customer Review: Kodak M829 Digital Picture Frame
This digital picture frame is very easy to use even without the manual. Everything you need is on the touch screen. Very easy to use from your digital camera, flash drive or the computer. Also the videos that I tried from my digital camera played very well and where clear. I haven't as yet tried any music. The clock feature that turns the picture frame on and off is a very convient idea but be sure you use the 24 hour cycle, I didn't understand this at first and couldn't get mine timer working right. I did have a little trouble coping picture files to my SD card but I think, I need to put them on my computer first and see if that is what is need to get them on my SD card, not sure about this right now, but I will try it and see if that works. Overall I'm very please with the Kodak digital picture frame and would recommend it to anyone as a gift for the Holidays.
Customer Review: Does not work like it says
I purchased this product two days ago and I am taking it back. I purchased this paticular frame because it goes with my Easyshare camera, and I like the word EASY when it comes to some of this Hi Tech stuff. I have to say it was easy to get my photos on, no problem, but The Video feature didn't work. The videos played very slow and the audio was slow and muted, when I played it for the first time it frightened my daughter, she thougth there was a monster in the frame. I called Kodak, they said to send it back. I don't want to purchase another one and have the same problem again.

One day you spot an interesting small stone wall.Just past that you notice a pretty young girl playing in a field of flowers.Behind that you notice an old weathered barn with an old tractor sitting in front."Ah", you say to yourself, "the perfect photo". But is it really? No.It may be the perfect series of photos, but that's a different story.

This picture would fail as a great shot; A) because it is far too complex a composition, and B) the camera has no way to effectively focus your attention on four different subjects on four different planes at the same time.Let's break this down to the more realistic shots.

Photo #1 - - - You get down low enough that you see the stone wall in the foreground with the classic barn and tractor in the background.Using selective focus, the wall is sharp and the barn and tractor are a soft hazy pastel type background.

Photo #2 - - - You lean over the fence, zoom in on the young girl with the field of flowers as the background.Using selective focus, you make the girl in sharp focus and the flowers around her gradually get softer and softer.Your camera is at enough of an angle that your do NOT include the barn and tractor in this image.

Photo #3 - - - Getting the owners permission first, you climb over the fence. You compliment the little girl on the pretty flowers; then you shoot past her using the flowers as the foreground and the barn as the background. You may again want to get down low so that the flowers become more dominant.Using selective focus, you focus on the flowers about one third of the way into the field, making them sharp and still having the rest of the field and the barn in soft focus.

Photo #4 - - - Since you already have the owners permission, you walk around the field until you get close enough to the barn and tractor. This time you decide to get down really low (you are laying on your stomach). You fill 2/3rds of the frame with the tractor.Using selective focus, you make the tractor in sharp focus and the barn is now soft focus.

These are the basic shots I would shoot in this situation. Now admittedly there are other possible combinations. You could; (for example) put the tractor in the lower 1/3rd of the frame, then focus on the barn and deliberately make the tractor itself go soft focus. This way the tractor is framing the rest of the shot.To be honest there are dozens of possibilities, but each of those still boils down to one main subject and one supporting background (or foreground).

Yes, the camera can technically take a shot with everything in it.But the human mind is only going to focus on one story, or one set of foreground/background images at a time.Your job is not to capture the universe of possibilities all at one time and confuse your viewer.Your job is to point out the individual miracles within the universe so that your viewer can appreciate them more than they ever have before.

The most powerful images in history are those that are simple and direct. They tell a story. The viewer should immediately be drawn to your image and feel an emotional impact. This can not happen if he or she has to visually sort through all the clutter you left in the image. If you want to be award winning, if you want to get published, if you want to sell your work . . . keep it simple.

Customer Review: Sending This One Back
I was very disappointed in this product. I bought it on sale and loved the idea of having a touch screen option. When I brought it home, opened the packaging, I realized that all I had to do was plug it and go. The think was I couldn't go. The screen was not reacting to touch. I did notice the same thing at the store, but I thought that the sample product was just messed with too much. Not the case, my brand new one is the same way, none reactive. The screen seem to freeze on the menu. I turned it off after several minutes, tried again and the same thing happened. I again, turned it off and packaged it back up and I will be getting a different model. Very disappointing.
Customer Review: not recommended
The frame is nice looking and the touch screen borders were the selling point. However, the touch controls were very slow in response. The screen would freeze up and sometimes it would not read the memory card. Perhaps we might have gotten a defective one, but we returned it to Amazon and will purchase one with a more reliable remote control.
